Publishing and interviewing are two essential skills all graduate students need to conquer to progress through a successful job market (be it research, teaching, service, or industry) process and throughout an academic career. In this workshop, graduate students will be provided with tips for both publishing in various venues and interviewing on the academic and non-academic job market. In the first half of the workshop, a diverse group of scholars in applied linguistics will provide tips on the publication process and on interviewing strategies in general. In the second-half, each panelist will lead a roundtable discussion with a smaller group of graduate students to provide more personalized suggestions for highlighting research, teaching, scholarship, and service in both Skype/Zoom and in-person interviewing. Graduate students will walk away from this evening workshop more prepared to participate in publishing ventures and more prepared for interviewing.
